We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Junior Systems Administrator to support day-to-day Microsoft 365, endpoint, and basic network operations across our affiliated entities. Working under our Infrastructure Engineer — who owns architecture, security, and compliance strategy — you will implement, support, and maintain systems across a multi-tenant environment while growing your technical skills. It is an excellent early-career opportunity to gain real-world experience across Microsoft 365, security tools, endpoint management, and the operational needs of a regulated financial services firm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support M365 users, groups, licenses, and basic policies, along with Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams operations.
- Administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) — user and group management, MFA, and basic Conditional Access — executing tasks from predefined policies.
- Troubleshoot email, file-sharing, and collaboration issues for end users.
- Support multi-tenant Microsoft 365 administration across affiliated entities (e.g., Paradigm, Colton Alexander Securities, Colton Alexander Advisors); assist with mailbox migrations between tenants, including mail forwarding and auto-reply configuration during transition periods.
- Assist with password manager / SSO improvementsto reduce login and credential friction for executives and staff.
- Assist with Microsoft Intune: device enrollment (Windows & macOS), basic compliance policies, and application deployments.
- Support and troubleshoot Windows 11 and macOS devices (login, performance, connectivity).
- Monitor Microsoft Defender for Endpoint alerts, perform basic triage, and escalate incidents.
- Help apply Microsoft Purview DLP and retention policies and ensure policies function as intended (no responsibility for designing strategy).
- Help ensure mailboxes and communications for regulated entities are correctly routedinto Global Relay or other designated archiving/retention systems, and flag any accounts not yet properly onboarded.
- Support documentation of cybersecurity due-diligence reviewsfor third-party software and AI tools, and help enforce need-to-know access segmentation between affiliated entities (executing controls defined by leadership, not designing them).
- Manage SharePoint Online and OneDrive permissions, sharing, and sync issues, following leadership's governance policies.
- Support Microsoft Teams and Teams Phone configurations, including call queues and auto-attendants.
- Assist in reorganizing and standardizing SharePoint document libraries and folder structures (naming conventions, permissions cleanup) to address file sprawl, under the direction of the Infrastructure Engineer.
- Run and make minor, guided edits to PowerShell (Graph, Exchange Online) and Azure CLI scripts.
- Troubleshoot basic networking (DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi) and escalate complex issues to senior engineers.
- Document issues, resolutions, and procedures, following standard operating procedures and escalation paths.
- Support use of Microsoft Forms and Syntexto reduce manual document handling, under guidance from senior staff.
- Maintain a basic inventory of Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365 licenses and subscription costs across affiliated entities; support license reassignment as entities restructure.
- Assist with onboarding entities into the Microsoft Partner Program and tracking partner licensing benefits.
- Support efforts to create a consistent user experience across tenants (folder structures, templates, categories, calendar setup).
Experience & Qualifications
- 0–2 years in IT support, system administration, or help desk roles (internship, lab, or project experience acceptable).
- Basic familiarity with Microsoft 365; exposure to Azure, Intune, or endpoint management is a plus.
- Basic PowerShell familiarity and a willingness to learn scripting and automation are preferred.
- An Associate's or Bachelor's in IT or a related field, or certifications (MS-900, AZ-900, CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+), are a plus — none required.
- Exposure to multi-tenant Microsoft 365 environments or regulated/financial-services IT settings is a plus, though not required.
