Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold high standards of cleanliness and food safety
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and portioning meals under supervision
- Support the culinary team in meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, kitchen surfaces, and storage areas in compliance with health regulations
- Handle food items carefully during preparation and service, adhering to proper food handling procedures
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to keep the kitchen well-equipped for daily operations
- Follow all safety protocols related to food handling, sanitation, and kitchen equipment operation
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Basic knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly is advantageous
- Experience working in restaurants or the food industry helps develop valuable skills such as knife handling, portioning, and multitasking
