Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use according to infection prevention management protocols.
- Assist dentists during various procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry by handing instruments and managing clinical documentation.
- Take high-quality dental x-rays and operate advanced medical imaging equipment like 3D scanners while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques.
- Manage patient flow efficiently by greeting patients as a dental receptionist, updating medical records, recording vital signs, and ensuring accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive patient information using patient management software such as Eaglesoft.
Requirements
- Experience working as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic environment.
- Proficiency with systems such as Eaglesoft for managing medical records and documentation.
- Strong understanding of infection control standards, including dental sterilization procedures and healthcare infection prevention protocols.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, equipment operation, and clinical assisting techniques like four-handed dentistry.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, team members, and healthcare professionals.
- Certification in Dental Assisting or relevant training
