Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment and ensuring that students continue their educational progress in the absence of their regular teacher. This role requires effective communication skills, a passion for education, and the ability to engage students across various subjects and grade levels.
Duties
- Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of instruction.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.
- Adapt instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students, including those in special education.
- Facilitate student engagement through interactive activities and discussions.
- Assess student performance and provide feedback as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Assist in the implementation of curriculum development initiatives as needed.
- Foster a love for learning by incorporating literacy education and early childhood education principles into daily activities.
Qualifications
- Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development is preferred.
- Background in preschool or early childhood education is advantageous.
- Knowledge of special education practices to support diverse learners.
- Proficiency in teaching subjects such as math and literacy education.
- Familiarity with childhood development theories and practices.
- Montessori training or experience is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience working with students of varying ages and abilities.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and teaching styles.
