Owner Operator – Furniture Home Delivery | 26' Box Truck | 2-Man Team
Independent Contractor / Owner Operator Opportunity
We are looking for experienced Owner Operators with established 2-man delivery teams to provide residential furniture home delivery and light assembly services.
This opportunity is for professional delivery teams who understand white-glove / final-mile home delivery, customer service, furniture handling, and in-home assembly.
Requirements
Applicants must meet ALL of the following requirements:
- Own and operate a 26-foot box truck with a liftgate
- Have an active DOT and MC Authority
- Be able to meet all required commercial auto, cargo, and general liability insurance requirements
- Have previous furniture home delivery / final-mile delivery experience
- Operate as a 2-man delivery team at all times
- Both team members must be able to pass a background check
- Both team members must be able to pass a drug screening
- Have your own tools and equipment necessary for furniture assembly and delivery
- Be able to safely load, unload, carry, assemble, and place furniture inside customers' homes
- Maintain a clean, professional truck and appearance
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally with customers and dispatch
- Have a smartphone capable of using delivery and routing applications
- Maintain all required operating documentation and insurance throughout the contract
Responsibilities
- Complete scheduled residential furniture deliveries
- Load and unload furniture safely
- Perform light furniture assembly
- Place furniture in the customer's requested room
- Protect customers' homes and merchandise during delivery
- Remove packaging and delivery debris when required
- Obtain signatures, photos, and proof of delivery through our delivery technology
- Communicate delays, damages, exceptions, or delivery issues immediately
- Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism
What We're Looking For
We are looking for experienced final-mile professionals, not entry-level delivery drivers.
Ideal contractors already have experience with:
- Furniture delivery
- Appliance or large-item home delivery
- Final-mile logistics
- White-glove residential delivery
- Room-of-choice delivery
- Light assembly
Equipment Required
26' Box Truck with Liftgate – REQUIRED
Owner Operators are responsible for providing their own:
- Truck
- Fuel
- Tools
- Dollies / hand trucks
- Furniture moving equipment
- Straps and securing equipment
- Personal protective equipment
- Qualified helper / second team member
- Insurance and operating authority
Contractor Requirements
This is an Independent Contractor / Owner Operator opportunity. Contractors are responsible for maintaining their own business, equipment, operating authority, insurance, taxes, personnel, and other business-related expenses.
Active DOT/MC Authority and qualifying insurance are required before onboarding.
