Job Overview
National Manufacturer is seeking knowledgeable and dedicated Accounts Payable Clerks to join our team at our new office annex in Dallas, TX.
The Accounts Payable Clerk reports to the Assistant Controller and assumes a supporting role in tasks related to efficient maintenance and accurate processing of financial transactions. Provides financial, administrative and clerical support by ensuring payments are completed and expenses are controlled by processing, verifying and reconciling invoices according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely and accurate manner.
Duties
- Review and verify the accuracy and completeness of vendor invoices and supporting documentation.
- Verify appropriate authorization and coding for all invoices.
- Knowledge of 3-way matching process. Example: matching invoice, purchase order, and receiver before processing.
- Accurately enter invoices into the accounting system for payment processing.
- Schedule and process payments according to company policy, including checks and ACH.
- Monitor payment schedules to ensure timely disbursements and avoid late fees.
- Address and resolve payment discrepancies and issues with vendors.
- Reconcile vendor statements to ensure accounts are accurate and up to date.
- Investigate and resolve outstanding balances or discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including reconciliations and accruals.
- Maintain detailed records of transactions and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain organized records of invoices, payments and other accounts payable documentation in accordance to company policies.
- Assist with audit preparation by providing required documentation and explanations as requested.
- Stay updated on best practices, changes in accounting regulations and technological advancements related to accounts payable processes.
- Pick-up and deliver incoming mail.
- Answer telephones and assist callers with various issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience
- Associate Degree in Accounting Required, Bachelor Degree in Accounting preferred.
- Two years’ minimum Accounts Payable experience, preferably in high volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Focus on accuracy and timeliness with strong problem solving, analytical, and creative skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate, timely analyses.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Ability to contribute and work well with a team of common goals and responsibilities.
- PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment) as well as other computer software systems for the preparation of reports, spreadsheets and other accounting analysis that may be required by management

Pay: $43,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
