Experienced Landscape Crew Driver / Crew Leader

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Landscape Crew Driver/Crew Leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of professional landscaping experience, previous experience driving a landscape crew, and the ability to supervise employees while completing daily landscaping assignments safely and efficiently.
This is a hands-on position. The Crew Driver/Crew Leader will transport the crew and equipment, assign and oversee daily tasks, communicate with management, and work alongside the crew.
Work Schedule
- Full-time position
- Must be available to work Monday through Saturday
- Daily hours may vary and may exceed 10 hours during busy periods
- Must be able to work outdoors in heat, cold, and rain
ResponsibilitiesCrew Leadership and Transportation
- Safely drive company trucks with or without attached trailers
- Transport crew members, tools, materials, and equipment to job sites
- Lead and supervise the landscaping crew throughout the workday
- Assign daily responsibilities and ensure work is completed correctly and on schedule
- Communicate instructions in both English and Spanish
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive work environment
- Report job-site problems, equipment issues, or customer concerns to management
Preparing Trucks and Equipment
- Load mowers, blowers, edgers, fuel, tools, and other equipment onto trucks and trailers
- Properly secure all equipment before leaving the property or job site
- Confirm that the crew has the necessary tools, materials, and personal protective equipment
- Follow all company driving and equipment-safety procedures
Landscape Maintenance
- Operate commercial lawn mowers, edgers, weed trimmers, backpack blowers, and other landscaping equipment
- Mow lawns and edge grass along curbs, walkways, and landscape beds
- Trim and prune shrubs, small trees, branches, and other plant material
- Remove weeds, leaves, branches, clippings, rocks, trash, and other debris
- Maintain clean, safe, and professional-looking job sites
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets company quality standards
Plant and Flower Installation
- Prepare soil for flowers, shrubs, groundcover, and other plant material
- Install plants at the correct depth, spacing, and placement
- Apply mulch evenly and appropriately
- Water newly installed plant material correctly
- Create and maintain clean landscape-bed edges
Equipment Maintenance
- Load and unload equipment safely
- Clean trucks, trailers, tools, and equipment after use
- Wash equipment and remove dirt, grass, and debris
- Change mower blades, oil, and air filters when needed
- Grease and perform basic maintenance on landscaping machinery
- Report damaged or unsafe equipment immediately
Required Qualifications
- At least two years of professional landscaping experience
- Previous experience working as a landscape crew driver or crew leader
- Experience supervising, directing, and working alongside a landscaping crew
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Available to work Monday through Saturday
- Experience safely driving trucks with trailers
- Experience operating commercial landscaping tools and machinery
- Dependable transportation and reliable attendance
- Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments without constant supervision
Physical Requirements
Applicants must be able to:
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Safely handle, push, and pull landscaping equipment and materials
- Control a walk-behind mower over curbs and uneven surfaces
- Walk several miles per day on uneven or sloped terrain
- Bend, kneel, stand, and perform physical labor for extended periods
- Use hand tools, power tools, saws, and cutting equipment safely
- Work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, rain, dust, and other weather conditions
- Work around loud equipment while wearing required hearing and safety protection
