Duties
- Prepare ingredients and components of dishes according to menu specifications and recipes
- Assist in meal preparation, ensuring timely and efficient service during busy hours
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety standards
- Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination
- Support kitchen staff with cooking tasks, including chopping, mixing, and plating
- Assist with menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and prep needs
- Ensure all food is stored correctly, rotating stock and minimizing waste through proper food handling practices
Experience
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly valued
- Demonstrated kitchen experience in restaurants or food service environments
- Knowledge of food industry standards, including food safety and sanitation protocols
- Skills in culinary techniques such as knife skills, meal preparation, and cooking methods
- Familiarity with catering services and serving in a fast-paced setting is a plus
- Experience with menu planning and food presentation enhances your candidacy
- Strong understanding of food handling procedures and adherence to safety regulations
