Thrift Store Manager: Full-Time (32 hours/week) $23-28/hour, based on experience
Homeworthy is seeking a Thrift Store Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our thrift store, a key part of our fundraising and community engagement work. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, creative, people-oriented, and excited to work in a mission-driven environment that values dignity, respect, and community connection. The Thrift Store manager position includes Saturdays. General work hours are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Based in beautiful Midcoast Maine, Homeworthy is the only comprehensive homeless services provider supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Knox, Waldo, and parts of Lincoln counties. We deliver home, help, and hope through wrap-around programming, including Comprehensive Client Care services, the Hospitality House Family Shelter, The Landing Place Youth Program, and community-based fundraising efforts like our thrift store. Our work is grounded in strengths-based, trauma-informed, and client-centered values.
Reporting directly to the Director of Development, the Thrift Store Manager provides oversight and management of daily thrift store operations. This includes volunteer coordination, inventory management, financial procedures, donor relations, and community engagement. The Thrift Store Manager works closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure shifts are covered during store hours and collaborates with the Finance Manager on regular reviews of revenue, expenses, and inventory. As part of the Development Department, this role also works closely with the Donations and Digital Communications Coordinator to support the efficient and effective intake and triage of all Homeworthy donations.
This position requires someone who is resourceful, highly organized, and comfortable balancing operational details with relationship-based work. The Thrift Store Manager serves as an ambassador for Homeworthy and plays an important role in connecting community support to our mission.
This is a full-time (32 hours/week), non-exempt position with competitive hourly pay of $23-28 based on experience. Homeworthy offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including employer-supported health insurance plans, a health savings account, dental and vision plans, life insurance, short term disability insurance, retirement plan with a 3% employer match, paid breaks, paid time off (starting at 15 days per year), 14 paid holidays (including your birthday!), and additional time off in the summer.
Background and license checks are required prior to hire.
