Gateway Aluminum, a subsidiary of Packaging Matters, is expanding in St. Louis and hiring Aluminum Slitter Operators. We are looking for safety-focused, dependable team members who want to build a long-term career in manufacturing while producing high-quality flat rolled aluminum products.

In this role, you will safely operate slitting equipment, monitor product quality, complete setups and changeovers, and help keep production running efficiently to meet customer specifications and daily schedules.

What You'll Do
· Operate aluminum slitting equipment safely and efficiently.
· Monitor product quality and remove or report defects according to specifications.
· Complete setups, tooling changes, calibrations, and routine equipment checks.
· Use overhead cranes, forklifts, and other tools to move materials and support production flow.
· Document production and quality information accurately and communicate issues promptly.
· Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while supporting team and continuous improvement efforts.
What We're Looking For
We’re especially interested in candidates who are reliable, safety-focused, comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and experienced with forklifts, overhead cranes, or similar industrial equipment.
Ideal candidates are dependable, safety-minded, and ready to thrive in a hands-on manufacturing role.
· Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work rotating schedules, 12-hour shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
· Basic computer and math skills.
· Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
· Strong attention to detail, quality, and workplace safety.
· Experience in operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or similar industrial equipment is required.
· Ability to read production orders, schematics, or work instructions is preferred.
Education
· High school diploma or GED
Physical Requirements
· Must be able to perform all essential physical functions of working in a manufacturing environment such as climbing, standing, bending, reaching, and squatting.
· Hands to finger use – fine motor skills such as, turning, grasping, pinching, wrapping, writing, typing, etc.
· Must be able to lift to fifty pounds.

Work Environment
· Working with and near electrical and mechanical machinery and equipment.
· Working in an uncontrolled climate.
· Working with Hot and Sharp aluminum
· Rotating shift work and overtime to include weekends required.
