Job Description
Frigates is seeking a passionate, high-energy, and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team. As a Sous Chef, you will be the driving force behind kitchen execution, ensuring that every dish leaving the line meets our high standards for quality, presentation, and flavor.

Responsibilities
- Culinary Leadership: Act as second-in-command in the kitchen, managing line cooks, prep staff, and dishwashers. Lead by example during high-volume service.
- Quality Control: Oversee daily food preparation and execution, ensuring strict adherence to recipes, portion controls, and plating specifications.
- Operations & Inventory: Assist the Executive Chef with ordering, inventory management, food cost controls, and minimizing waste.
- Food Safety & Compliance: Enforce immaculate kitchen sanitation standards. Ensure the kitchen complies with all local health department regulations and food safety codes at all times.
- Team Development: Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and accountable team environment.
- Expediting: Efficiently run the pass during peak hours to ensure timely ticket times and seamless communication between the front of house (FOH) and back of house (BOH).
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager in a high-volume, upscale-casual restaurant.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage, train, and direct a diverse kitchen team under pressure.
- Technical Skill: Exceptional culinary skills, knife work, and comprehensive knowledge of various cooking techniques and stations.
- Certification: ServSafe Manager certification (or equivalent) required.
- Availability: Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
