CDL Spreader Operator
Pay: $30/hour + Overtime | Full-Time
Position Summary
PPG (Cactus Asphalt) is seeking an experienced CDL Spreader Operator to operate asphalt distributor/spreader trucks and support pavement preservation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong safety mindset, equipment operating experience, and the ability to travel and work flexible schedules.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain spreader/distributor trucks.
- Ensure proper asphalt application and shot rates.
- Complete pre- and post-trip DOT inspections.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and report issues.
- Complete required paperwork, logs, and reports.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Travel and work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Assist with additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of spreader/distributor truck experience.
- Valid Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements (minimum 3 years preferred).
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to travel as needed to job sites
- Willingness to stay overnight for up to a week at a time, occasionally up to two weeks.
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical job duties.
