Our Accounting Department manages the accounting tasks for the global headquarter (Manhattan, New York), the logistics function (in New York and California) and the corporately owned locations in the local and overseas markets. Working closely with the franchisees, we aim to provide the most accurate services for the account payable and account receivable.
Job Summary:
The bookkeeper will be responsible for assisting in accounting functions such as accounts payable. The incumbent must act with integrity in their daily work and strictly adhere to all accounting policies and procedures for auditing purposes to support the company’s financial success. This role provides valuable hands-on experience for candidates pursuing a career in accounting or working toward their CPA.
Fluency in Mandarin is a plus, as this role requires regular communication with our primarily Mandarin-speaking vendors and partners.
** Please note that this job requires 2-3 months training (5 days in the office) at our corporate HQ - Midtown, NY then transition to our Long Island, NY location for job placement. Occasional meetings at our corporate HQ - Midtown, NY location as needed.
Key Accountabilities:
- Update all bi-weekly and monthly sales through spreadsheet.
- Daily, weekly, periodic deposit (cash and credit card) verifications.
- Verifying all bills, record into spreadsheets and mail out the check.
- Maintain franchisees’ documents and profiles on QuickBooks and other systems.
- Make bank deposits.
- Assist with AP to scan the monthly reimbursement report.
- Assist in preparing 1099s, sales tax returns, etc. if needed.
- Assist with the annual audit.
- Conduct clerical duties, including filing, answering phone calls, responding to emails and preparing documents.
- Bank reconciliations monthly basis.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
● Ethical behavior to adhere with dealing with sensitive financial information.
● Proficient with accounting software (Quickbooks) and procedures.
● Excellent organizational & multitasking skills and attention to detail.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) and/or similar software
- Mandarin speaking preferably
- Warehouse, fulfillment or procurement center experience preferably
Education and Experience:
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or business or related discipline required.
● 1 to 3 years accounting work experience is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $57,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year
