Position Summary
Ember & Elm is seeking a passionate, organized, and driven Chef de Partie to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate is committed to excellence, takes pride in craftsmanship, and thrives in a fast-paced, scratch kitchen focused on seasonal New England cuisine. As a Chef de Partie, you will oversee a designated station, maintain the highest standards of quality and consistency, and contribute to creating memorable dining experiences for every guest.
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute all production and service for your assigned station.
- Prepare and plate dishes with precision, consistency, and attention to detail.
- Maintain exceptional food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Assist with daily mise en place and station organization.
- Follow recipes and standard operating procedures while contributing creative ideas.
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are met and maintained.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate ordering needs to the Sous Chef or Executive Chef.
- Minimize food waste through proper storage, rotation, and utilization of ingredients.
- Train and mentor junior cooks while fostering a positive and professional kitchen culture.
- Work collaboratively with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation throughout each shift.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional kitchen experience, preferably in upscale or fine dining.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of classical cooking techniques.
- Experience with seasonal ingredients and scratch cooking.
- Ability to remain calm and organized during high-volume service.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Culinary degree is preferred but not required.
