Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day
Position Type: Full-Time, 12-Month/Year-Round
Pay Range: $22.00–$26.00 per hour
Position Summary
Milford School District is seeking a knowledgeable and service-oriented Technology Support Associate to support multiple sites (must have reliable transportation).
Under the direction of the Director of Technology, the Technology Support Associate provides frontline technical assistance to faculty, staff, and students. This position responds to technical questions; troubleshoots computer hardware, software, login, Chromebook, and printing issues; and works collaboratively with the IT team to resolve larger network, Wi-Fi, and user-account concerns.
The ideal candidate is an effective problem-solver who communicates well, manages competing priorities, and enjoys helping others use technology successfully in a school environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide responsive technical support to faculty, staff, and students.
- Diagnose and resolve computer hardware, software, login, and printing issues.
- Assist students with Chromebook and Chrome OS-related concerns.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair computers and related hardware.
- Support Windows, macOS, Chromebook, and Chrome OS devices.
- Work with the IT team to resolve network, Wi-Fi, and user-account issues.
- Research technical problems and identify effective solutions.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with staff and students.
- Prioritize and manage multiple support requests in a fast-paced school environment.
- Follow established technology security, privacy, and data-protection practices.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience providing computer or help-desk support.
- Experience working in a LAN/WAN environment.
- Strong working knowledge of and troubleshooting experience with Windows, macOS, Chromebooks, and Chrome OS.
- Experience maintaining and repairing computers and related hardware.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices involving software, hardware, data privacy, phishing, and malware.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of staff members and students.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities based on the needs of a school environment.
