Warehouse Associate

Schedule: M-F Day Shift 8am-4:30pm & Swing Shift 12pm – 8:30pm
Pay: $20-$25 per/hr – with occasional OT

Position Overview
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting daily warehouse and yard operations including receiving, loading, order fulfillment, equipment operation, and material handling. This role progresses from entry-level responsibilities to advanced receiving and loading functions based on experience and demonstrated skill. Associates are expected to follow standard operating procedures, maintain safety standards, and ensure accurate and timely customer order fulfillment
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Follow established standard operating procedures to complete assigned warehouse and yard tasks safely and efficiently.
· Accurately fulfill customer orders by reading and interpreting pick tickets, shipping documents, and work orders.
· Prepare outbound orders for shipment using appropriate banding, wrapping, labeling, and protective packaging materials.
· Load trucks and curtain-side trailers in the correct delivery sequence while maintaining proper weight distribution.
· Unload semi-trucks, containers, and dry vans carrying materials ranging from 8 to 48 feet in length.
· Safely operate diesel and electric forklifts with capacities ranging from 6,000 to 20,000 pounds.
· Move, stack, stage, and organize materials in designated warehouse and yard locations.
· Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage, weather exposure, quantity discrepancies, or other quality concerns.
· Report damaged or incorrect materials promptly and follow established procedures for resolution.
· Safely operate a chainsaw, when required, using all appropriate personal protective equipment.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and yard by covering materials, removing debris, and ensuring products are stored properly.
· Use barcode scanners, computer terminals, and warehouse management systems to track inventory and process inbound and outbound materials.
· Support receiving, loading, and general warehouse operations, taking on additional responsibility as skills and experience develop.
· Perform other duties as assigned to support department and company operations.
Qualifications and Experience
· Previous forklift or warehouse equipment experience is preferred.
· Ability to safely lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
· Ability to understand and follow written, verbal, and visual instructions.
· Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
· Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
· Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions as needed.
