Machota Solutions is partnered with a cannabis company headquartered in Battle Creek, MI that is entering an exciting period of growth. While they currently operate a cultivation facility and retail dispensary, they're actively expanding their operation with plans to triple production and significantly increase wholesale distribution to retail cannabis companies throughout Michigan.
Position Summary
They're looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Facility Maintenance Technician to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of three company locations in Battle Creek.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their day. No two days are exactly alike as you'll troubleshoot facility issues, perform preventative maintenance, complete small repair projects, and help ensure their cultivation, processing, and retail operations continue running efficiently.
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in fixing problems before they become bigger issues.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance across three Battle Creek facilities.
- Complete preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
- Replace light fixtures, bulbs, switches, outlets, and other minor electrical components.
- Perform light plumbing repairs, including faucets, fittings, valves, toilets, and drains.
- Complete basic HVAC maintenance such as changing filters, troubleshooting minor issues, and coordinating larger repairs with outside vendors.
- Repair doors, locks, shelving, drywall, flooring, trim, and other general building components.
- Assemble, install, and repair equipment and fixtures as needed.
- Maintain tools, maintenance supplies, and inventory.
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests from operations and leadership.
- Coordinate outside contractors when specialized repairs are required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Assist with facility improvement projects as the company continues expanding.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of general maintenance, facilities, handyman, or building maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience performing basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC repairs.
- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools safely.
- Ability to diagnose maintenance issues and recommend practical solutions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Reliable transportation to travel between company locations in Battle Creek.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders when necessary.

Pay: $21.63 - $28.84 per hour
