Position Summary: Tin-Mar, Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team in Huntsville, AL. This role is responsible for creating, optimizing, and supporting CNC programs for the manufacture of mid- to high-complexity aerospace and defense components on 3- through 5-axis CNC equipment. The ideal candidate brings strong CAM software proficiency, a solid understanding of machining principles, and the ability to take a part from drawing to finished program with minimal oversight.
Responsibilities:
- Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam and/or Surfcam software
- Program 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machining centers for aerospace and defense components
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, specifications, and solid models to develop machining strategy
- Determine machining methods, tool selection, cutting speeds, feeds, and work-holding solutions
- Optimize programs for efficiency, surface finish, dimensional accuracy, and repeatability
- Collaborate with machinists, quality, and engineering to resolve manufacturing issues and drive continuous improvement
- Support first-article runs and assist with setup sheets and work instructions as needed
- Ensure all programs meet customer, quality, and internal manufacturing requirements
- Maintain organized program libraries and revision control of CNC files
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a CNC Programmer in a manufacturing environment
- Strong proficiency with Mastercam
- Experience programming 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machining centers
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and solid models
- Solid understanding of machining principles, tooling, speeds, feeds, and materials
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across departments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Surfcam
- Background in aerospace, defense, or government contract manufacturing
- Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management systems
- Experience writing setup sheets or work instructions to support machinists on the floor
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk on a shop floor for extended periods
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
- Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
Schedule:
- Monday – Thursday (7:00AM - 5:30AM)
- Overtime available based on production needs
Pay: $40.00 – $50.00 per hour (based on experience)
