Position Summary
The Mandarin Oriental, Boston, one of the city’s premier luxury hotels is seeking an experienced, part-time Overnight Valet Attendant . We are looking for a customer service professional who will deliver an exceptional first and last impression for every guest.
The Valet Attendant is responsible for safely and efficiently parking and retrieving guest vehicles. This role requires engaging with customers in a warm, positive, and professional manner to ensure a seamless, high-end experience.
- Schedule: Friday & Saturday, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Overnight)
- Status: Part-Time
- Crucial Requirements: Prior valet experience and proficiency driving manual transmissions (stick shift) are strictly required.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Relations: Greet arriving guests with courteous, five-star service, assist with vehicle doors, and help passengers enter or exit safely.
- Vehicle Handling: Park and retrieve guest vehicles promptly, operating all cars safely and securely within designated parking areas.
- Key Management: Maintain strict tracking and organization of all vehicle keys to guarantee smooth, error-free retrieval.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic regulations to minimize the risk of accidents or vehicle damage.
- Service Excellence: Actively address guest questions and concerns to ensure a consistently positive experience.
- Operations & Cleanliness: Maintain organization and cleanliness throughout the parking garage, removing trash or debris as needed.
- Shift Transitions: Cooperate with team members to facilitate smooth shift handovers and complete assigned cleaning duties.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Entry-level professional experience, but prior valet handling is required.
- Technical Skill: Must be fully proficient in operating manual transmission (stick shift) vehicles.
- Licensing: Must possess a valid driver’s license and be 18 years of age or older.
- Background: Ability to successfully pass a Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) background check.
- Communication: Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Professionalism: Must maintain strict uniform standards, an upbeat attitude, and a polite demeanor that aligns with luxury hospitality standards.
- Dependability: Adherence to VPNE’s attendance policy is strictly required.
