Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Import Customer Service Representative to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our clients. The Customer Service Representative (CSR) will be responsible for tracking customer shipments, resolving any issues that arise and working with accounting on billing issues. You will engage with customers through various channels, including phone calls and emails, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and promoting our services.
Responsibilities
- Organizes production by reviewing, planning, and allocating shipments.
- Validating and confirming ocean shipment bookings.
- Managing shipments from origin to destination to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Manage daily emails/phone calls from customers.
- Exceptional customer service, for both internal and external customers, in regards to the development and retention of the customer.
- Direct customer questions/concerns to the correct department for handling and respond with an answer to the customer.
- Use daily customer service report to make sure all release requirements have been met before containers arrive at final destination.
- Request documentation from Agents and Steam Ship Lines (Telex Releases, Arrival Notices).
- Process of freight payments.
- Handling transportation only accounts from start to finish.
Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Associates degree or higher preferred.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
