IT Technician / Infrastructure Specialist
Location: Warren, MI
Pay: Up to $25/hour
Contract: 12+ Month Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Overtime: Occasional weekend overtime available; no regular on-call requirement
Overview
We are seeking an IT Technician / Infrastructure Specialist to provide hands-on technical and application support within a large automotive manufacturing environment in Warren, MI. This role will support daily IT operations, manufacturing applications, infrastructure, incident resolution, and technology initiatives while helping minimize production downtime caused by IT-related issues.

Responsibilities
- Provide intermediate-level technical and application support for plant IT systems and daily operations.
- Support manufacturing applications, infrastructure, and IT systems in a fast-paced automotive plant environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT incidents and technical issues while minimizing potential production downtime.
- Assist with application integration, change management, incident management, problem resolution, and project support.
- Support machine monitoring, performance and quality systems, component tracking, identification systems, and engineering applications.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering and IT teams to launch and integrate new systems into production environments.
- Follow established IT standards, best practices, and change management procedures.
- Contribute to large and complex IT projects and plant technology initiatives.
- Build effective working relationships with plant employees, management, engineering teams, business partners, and IT leadership.
- Balance multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience providing hands-on IT support in a manufacturing, industrial, plant, or similar environment preferred.
- Knowledge of IT applications, infrastructure, systems, and networks.
- Familiarity with manufacturing systems, machine monitoring, quality systems, performance systems, or production technology is highly preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, applications, and network-related issues.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel at all levels.
- Comfortable contributing to large-scale IT projects and system implementations.
- Project management experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
This is a hands-on role within an automotive manufacturing environment. Candidates must be comfortable:
- Being on their feet for extended periods.
- Walking throughout a large facility.
- Regularly climbing stairs.
- Lifting and moving IT equipment as needed.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Equivalent technical experience will also be considered.
Additional Details
- 12+ month contract with the potential for long-term opportunity.
- No regular on-call rotation.
- Weekend overtime may be available on a volunteer basis before becoming mandatory.
- Must be comfortable working in an active automotive manufacturing environment.
