Assistant Project Manager – Pool Construction
Omega Pools is looking for a motivated, dependable Assistant Project Manager to support the construction phase of our residential swimming pool projects. This is an entry-level position designed for someone who wants to learn the pool construction industry, gain hands-on field experience, and grow into a larger project management role.
The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, comfortable communicating with homeowners and contractors, and willing to step in wherever needed to help keep projects moving forward. This is not strictly an office position. The role involves driving throughout the Greater Houston area, visiting active job sites, working outdoors, coordinating with suppliers and construction crews, and occasionally performing hands-on tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager with the construction phase of residential pool projects
- Visit active job sites to check progress, take photos, document conditions, and report updates
- Communicate professionally with homeowners regarding scheduling, construction progress, and project-related questions
- Coordinate deliveries, materials, equipment, and scheduling with suppliers, contractors, and the Omega Pools team
- Follow up with contractors and suppliers to help keep each project on schedule
- Identify potential issues and bring them to the Project Manager’s attention before they become larger problems
- Help resolve minor job-site items and perform hands-on work when needed
- Maintain organized project notes, photos, schedules, and status updates
- Confirm that job sites are clean, organized, and ready for the next stage of construction
- Look for ways to improve communication, organization, and the overall construction process
- Take initiative and assist with tasks without always needing to be directed
- Represent Omega Pools professionally when communicating with clients, suppliers, contractors, and team members
Qualifications:
- No previous pool construction experience is required, but construction or project coordination experience is helpful
- Strong willingness to learn the swimming pool construction process
- Professional and respectful when working with homeowners
- Organized, dependable, and able to follow through on assigned responsibilities
- Proactive mindset with the ability to recognize what needs to be done
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Able to manage multiple projects and changing priorities
- Comfortable working outdoors in Texas weather
- Willing and able to perform occasional hands-on and physical work
- Basic computer and smartphone skills, including email, photos, text messages, and project updates
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to drive throughout the Greater Houston area
- Must maintain a professional appearance and attitude while representing Omega Pools
