Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, making them feel instantly welcomed and valued
- Manage reservations efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring accurate seating arrangements
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand, including waiting areas and reservation logs
- Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to coordinate guest seating and special requests
- Answer phone inquiries with professionalism, providing accurate information about wait times, reservations, and restaurant offerings
- Assist guests with seating preferences and accommodate special needs or requests promptly
- Monitor guest flow during peak hours to optimize seating efficiency and reduce wait times
Experience
- Prior experience as a host or hostess in a fast-paced restaurant environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a desire to learn are equally valued
- Strong customer service background with excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and guest relations expertise
- Familiarity with food service operations and restaurant procedures enhances effectiveness in this role
- Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
- Hospitality or hotel experience can provide a solid foundation for delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a positive attitude in a lively setting
