Your impact
Load rating existing bridges and culverts. Plan and design bridges, retaining walls, foundations, and other structures. Work as part of a team of professionals on multiple projects. Develop preliminary and detailed construction cost estimates. Provide cost related input during the selection of bridge and other structural systems. Assist with feasibility studies and analysis of complex structures. Research code issues and working with city, county, and state officials. Work collaboratively with the cad technician team. Attend design review meetings and interacting with clients as experience progresses. Perform the design and analysis for structural engineering assignments using knowledge and application of engineering principles. Perform structural modeling analysis to determine loading and forces in the structure. Work on the design calculations for structural engineering assignments. Prepare design plans, specifications, and cost estimates as part of design packages for clients’ capital projects. Apply engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods.

Here's what you'll need
REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field and 4 years of work experience as a Bridge Engineer or related Structural occupation.
As an alternative, an employer will accept a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field and 7 years of work experience as a Bridge Engineer or related Structural occupation.
Special skills:
Expertise and knowledge of: Bridge design experience such as a background in steel girder bridges or prestressed concrete bridges or retaining structures and drainage structures; AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications to transportation structures; Structural and bridge analysis and design software; CAD tools and Microsoft Excel applications; ODOT practices and procedures; MicroStation inroads and Open roads platform; Developing project specific delivery plans.

The base salary range for this position is $133,931.00 to $148,700.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
