Position Summary
United Community Options is seeking a caring and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide high-quality, person-centered care in our Golden Glades Group Home. This position supports individuals with developmental disabilities and complex medical needs, including ventilator-dependent residents.
The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, and committed to promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life for every resident.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care and support to residents in accordance with physician orders, care plans, and organizational policies.
- Deliver safe and attentive care to ventilator-dependent individuals while following all medical and infection control protocols.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
- Observe, monitor, and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, or medical condition.
- Accurately document resident care, shift notes, incident reports, and required medical logs, including ventilator documentation.
- Implement Individual Program Plans (IPP) and behavior support strategies as directed.
- Encourage residents to participate in recreational, educational, and community activities that promote independence and inclusion.
- Safely transport residents when needed while following agency transportation policies.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, supervisors, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Attend and successfully complete all required trainings and maintain certifications.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Current Florida Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
- Experience caring for medically fragile or ventilator-dependent individuals is preferred.
- Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record (minimum three years of acceptable driving history).
- Ability to successfully pass all required background screenings and drug screening.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
