Position Summary
Quincy Country Club is seeking an experienced, hands-on Chief Engineer to oversee the operation, maintenance, repair, and improvement of all club facilities and mechanical systems. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the Club’s buildings, equipment, infrastructure, and grounds support systems are maintained to the highest standards while managing preventative maintenance programs, vendor relationships, and facility projects.
The Chief Engineer reports directly to the General Manager/COO and plays a critical role in preserving and enhancing the Club's physical assets.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesFacility Operations & Maintenance
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all Club buildings, facilities, and infrastructure.
- Manage HVAC, plumbing, electrical, irrigation support systems, kitchen equipment, pool mechanical systems, and other building systems.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Respond promptly to facility emergencies and operational issues.
- Ensure all life safety systems are properly maintained and inspected.
Leadership & Administration
- Work closely with Housekeeping Department
- Establish daily, weekly, and seasonal maintenance priorities.
- Manage department budgets and control maintenance-related expenses.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, warranties, and equipment inventories.
- Coordinate with department heads to address facility needs and support Club events.
Vendor & Project Management
- Solicit bids and oversee outside contractors and service providers.
- Manage capital improvement and renovation projects.
- Ensure contractor compliance with Club standards and safety requirements.
- Recommend facility improvements and energy-saving initiatives.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensure OSHA, health department, fire code, and environmental requirements are met.
- Promote a culture of workplace safety and preventive maintenance.
- Conduct regular facility inspections and risk assessments.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of facilities management, engineering, maintenance management, or related experience.
- Experience in hospitality, private clubs, resorts, hotels, healthcare, or commercial facilities preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and construction documents.
- Strong organizational, budgeting, and project management abilities.
- Proficiency with maintenance management software and Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Certifications
- HVAC Certification
- Electrical or Mechanical Trade License
- Pool Operator Certification (CPO) or willingness to obtain
- OSHA Safety Training
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to climb ladders, work in mechanical spaces, and respond to emergency situations.
Pay: $47,042.08 - $56,652.83 per year
