We are a state-of-the-art craft brewery located near the Texas Motor Speedway in far North Fort Worth, TX. We are focused on developing and producing a wide array of great products, both for external distribution and in our world-class tavern. We’re looking for a brewer to create wort on both our 30 BBL production and 5 BBL taproom breweries. Join our experienced team of brewers as we strive to create the very best craft beer anywhere.
Duties
We are looking for an experienced brewer to come help us make more beer and grow with our rapidly expanding company. Please note, this is not an entry level position. Under the direction of the Production Manager and the head brewer, the shift brewer will independently see the brewing process through from mash-in to knock out.
- Safely & efficiently operates and maintains brewing equipment, including our 30 BBL and 5 BBL Craft Kettle semiautomated brewhouses.
- Interprets recipes and creates high- quality wort consistently and within spec.
- Ensures implementation of all standard operating procedures to maintain consistency, quality, and efficiency throughout the brewing process.
- Is meticulous in cleaning the brewing equipment as well as maintaining a neat and orderly working area.
- Assists with cleaning the outsides of vessels, cleaning floors, and maintaining the appearance of the brewhouse and cellar.
- Performs and/or monitors preventative maintenance and cleaning of the brewing equipment.
- Maintains organization of brewing ingredients and materials
- Adheres to and advances all safety protocols set in place by the Production Director and Head Brewer
- Assists with and performs cellaring and packaging duties when required, including cleaning and sanitizing fermenters, performing tank transfers, cleaning kegs, and assisting with operating our canning line.
- Assists in and performs essential warehousing functions, including accepting and fulfilling shipments, and inventorying materials
- Maintains detailed records and quality control reporting, including utilizing and maintaining up-to-date brewing logs in Ekos and Grist
- Maintains a clean and orderly work environment
- Operates forklifts, scissor lifts, hand trucks, and vehicles as needed
- Lifts, drags, carries and manipulates hoses, parts, pumps, buckets and reservoirs.
- Participates in continuous improvement activities
- Participates in sensory evaluations of packaged product
- Communicates effectively within company channels
- Interacts positively with brewery guests, co-workers, accounts, and suppliers
- Keeps a flexible schedule to accommodate demands of a growing production brewery
- Understands that additional duties may be assigned as dictated by circumstance
Physical Demands
This position is a brewery job in a production facility with requirements including:
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Frequent walking, bending, twisting, kneeling, climbing, stooping, crawling and crouching.
- Must be able to correctly lift up to 60 lbs to shoulder height and push or pull up to 160 lbs.
- Use of ladders.
- Use hands, fingers to wrist and maintain fine digit manipulation and must be able to fully extend arms.
- Must be able to maintain adequate vision (with or without corrected lenses). Adequate peripheral vision is also necessary for safety purposes as are depth, distance, and ability to focus.
- In performance of job duties, employee is routinely required to communicate effectively with coworkers.
- Physical ability to handle pallets of inventory that weigh up to 2,100 lb. using a pallet jack or forklift.
- Must be able to work in hot, cold, wet, loud, and unpredictable environment.
- Must be able to work around steam, electricity, harsh chemicals, pressurized vessels and solvents.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a production-line setting. This position may come into direct contact with hazardous materials such as chemicals, noise and equipment. Hazardous materials include CO2 as well as loud noises as part of the brewing process.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required. At least 1 year experience in a production brewery setting required. Both 2+ years of experience at a production brewery, including experience working as a brewer, and formal brewing education, training, certifications, or accreditation are preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- Able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check.
- A detailed knowledge of brewing/process equipment including: malt milling equipment, brewhouse equipment, and cellar equipment.
- Ability to work independently as well as strong team orientation and ability to work with diverse group of individuals.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational and coordination skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of safety standards and protocols; safety minded.
- Strong time management, attention to detail, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to maintain confidential matters.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience in forklift operation.
- Flexible in schedule and adaptive to change; willing to work evenings or weekends on occasion.
- Need to be self-motivated.

- $22 - $26/hr to start
Schedule
- 10 hour shifts, 4 days/ week
- Some evening and weekend work as required
