Job Title: One-on-One Student Support Specialist
Location: Flint Cultural Center Academy
Position Overview: The Flint Cultural Center Academy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate One-on-One Student Support Specialist to provide individualized support for a student with special needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with early elementary-aged students and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one support to a student with special needs, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Assist with academic tasks, social interactions, and daily activities.

Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching methods to meet the student’s needs.

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other support staff to create a supportive and effective learning environment.

Maintain accurate records of the student’s progress and communicate regularly with the educational team.
Qualifications:

High school diploma required.

At least 60 college credits.

Experience working with early elementary-aged students.

CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training or willingness to obtain it.

Strong communication/interpersonal skills and skilled at de-escalation of student needs.

Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children with special needs.
Hours and Compensation:

Hours: 7:45 AM - 4:15 PM on student days.

Compensation: $15.00 per hour, depending on experience level.
