Job Title: Utility Worker / Dishwasher
Location: Erie Yacht Club – Erie, PA
Reports To: Executive Chef / Kitchen Manager
Position Summary:
The Erie Yacht Club is seeking a reliable and hardworking Utility Worker/Dishwasher to support our culinary team. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment while upholding the high standards expected by our members and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using dishwashing equipment or by hand
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish area, kitchen, and storage spaces
- Ensure proper handling and storage of all clean items
- Remove trash and recycling, keeping disposal areas clean and orderly
- Assist with basic kitchen tasks such as food prep, stocking, and receiving deliveries as needed
- Sweep and mop floors; clean kitchen equipment and surfaces regularly
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Support kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations, especially during busy service periods
Qualifications:
- Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
