Responsibilities:
- Preparing patients before drawing blood
- Collect blood samples from patients
- Explaining blood draw procedures to patients and answering any questions about the process
- Following all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary work areas
- Verifying patient information and labeling blood samples properly
- Accurately updating patient information in the organization’s database
- Helping nervous or frightened patients remain calm during blood draws
Skills:
- Previous experience in a phlebotomist role
- Strong phone and verbal communication skills along with active listening
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectively
Requirements:
- Valid phlebotomy certificate in CA
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Minimum 2 years experience as phlebotomist
- Maintain company loyalty, proactively support and practice company mission, vision and values.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times in compliance with company policy and HIPAA requirements.
- Know and follow Employee Handbook guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Be flexible and adaptable with the ability to be cross trained to cover other departmental areas simultaneously.

- Ability to work in a multi-task, moderate stress environment.
- Ability to manage a heavy workload with frequent interruptions and changing priorities in a fast paced environment.
- Completes assignments within specified time lines.
- Communicate verbally and in writing through appropriate channels.
- Participate in staff meetings
- Adhere to attendance policy, notify supervisor in writing when requesting time off in timely manner according to policies.
- Be courteous and promote professionalism.
- Know and follow safety standards.
- Follow established departmental dress code.
