Job Summary

Duties
- Operate heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks to perform road repairs, grading, paving, and construction tasks.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery such as Caterpillar equipment and power tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting, material placement, and debris removal using hand tools and power tools.
- Execute traffic control measures for work zones to ensure safety for workers and travelers alike.
- Assist with highway maintenance activities such as patching potholes, installing signage, and repairing guardrails in accordance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Support construction projects by preparing sites, setting up barriers, and managing construction materials.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with construction site standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, graders, loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, and front loader trucks.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery and tools used in road maintenance.
- Prior experience working on construction projects in a civil infrastructure or highway setting.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations related to commercial truck driving and safety standards.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting, manual handling, and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Skilled in traffic control for work zones to maintain safe environments for crews and the public.
- Familiarity with welding, power tools, heavy equipment operation (including Caterpillar machinery), and basic vehicle maintenance is preferred.
- Excellent understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and construction site procedures.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial truck driving experience is a plus.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
