Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Electrician to join our dynamic construction and maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial and industrial sites. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and technical schematics. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience with both low and high voltage systems, possess strong problem-solving abilities, and demonstrate proficiency with a wide range of hand and power tools. Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in commercial and industrial environments.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate installation and maintenance.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems using tools such as ohmmeters, ammeters, and multimeters to identify faults or potential issues.
- Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards for all electrical work.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to perform wiring tasks on construction sites or existing facilities.
- Work collaboratively with construction teams, including frame carpentry crews, to coordinate electrical installations within building frameworks.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and safety inspections.
- Follow all safety protocols related to high voltage and low voltage electrical systems to prevent accidents or hazards.
- Read construction blueprints accurately to determine wiring layouts and system specifications.
- Assist in troubleshooting complex electrical problems involving schematics or control panels.
Skills
- Proven experience as an electrician in industrial and commercial settings.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including low voltage (<50V) and high voltage (>600V) applications.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, along with power tools like drills and saws.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams effectively.
- Familiarity with the NEC (National Electrical Code) standards for safe installation practices.
- Experience using testing instruments such as ohmmeters, ammeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Construction site experience demonstrating adaptability in dynamic environments.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading for complex wiring layouts.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team on large-scale projects involving multiple trades.
- Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills related to electrical troubleshooting.
