Job Description:
Trash and Linen Houseman are responsible for emptying out trash and linen chutes as well as transporting trash and linen to the appropriate areas for pick up. They are also responsible for reporting any maintenance or safety issues found while they are working.
Job Duties:
- Emptying and transporting trash and linen to the appropriate areas for pick up.
- Ensure that all linen and trash chutes are cleared daily and do not back up.
- Assisting with receiving new linen deliveries.
- Sorting, counting, weighing and logging weights for linen.
- Inspecting carts and trailers daily and reporting any safety hazards immediately.
- Use correct safety procedures at all times when handling trash/linen and transporting it.
- Assist floor houseman as needed and when requested by management.
· Secure assigned keys and radios daily and return them at the end of each shift.
· Timely follow up on additional requests from management and work with other departments as a team to ensure all standards are maintained.
Job Requirements:
· Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
· Must be able to push and pull at least 100+ lbs.
· Must have valid SC drivers license and good driving record.
· Housekeeping experience preferred.
· Other duties not listed may be required.
