Position Overview:
As a Fine Dining Server at Venice Steakhouse, you will be an integral part of our elite team, delivering a high-end cocktail experience that complements the luxury of our steakhouse atmosphere. With your extensive knowledge of spirits, cocktails, and wine pairings, you’ll create unforgettable experiences for our guests while showcasing your expertise in mixology and customer service. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining a clean, ensuring all bar items are prepped properly, well-organized bar area and supporting your team in a fast-paced, upscale environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience:
- Greet guests with professionalism and warmth, creating a welcoming environment.
- Engage with guests to recommend cocktails, wine pairings, and craft drinks based on preferences and dietary restrictions.
- Ensure exceptional service from start to finish, always anticipating guests' needs.
Drink Preparation & Service:
- Expertly craft a variety of cocktails, pouring wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages to meet fine dining standards.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of our beverage menu, including seasonal cocktails, wines, and spirit options.
- Serve drinks promptly and accurately, ensuring consistency and quality with each order.
Wine & Beverage Pairing:
- Provide in-depth recommendations and pairings based on the guest's meal choices, demonstrating a refined knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits.
- Manage wine and cocktail orders efficiently to complement the dining experience.
Bar & Service Maintenance:
- Keep the bar area clean, stocked, and organized at all times.
- Clean and sanitize glassware, tools, and bar equipment per health and safety standards.
- Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to the kitchen.
- Provide excellent service at the table
Upselling & Special Promotions:
- Suggest premium drink options, upsell premium spirits or limited-edition cocktails to elevate the guest experience and drive revenue.
- Stay informed about any new drink promotions or changes to the menu.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Work in close collaboration with the front-of-house team and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
- Support fellow bartenders and servers during busy shifts, maintaining a positive team dynamic.
Customer Relations & Conflict Resolution:
- Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring complete satisfaction.
- Handle difficult situations with tact, always maintaining the restaurant's reputation for excellence.
- Closing Duties:
- Complete end-of-shift tasks such as restocking, cleaning, and ensuring the bar is prepared for the next service.
- Assist in inventory management and ordering supplies.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- At least 5 years of server experience in a fine dining, upscale restaurant, or luxury cocktail bar.
- Proven expertise in classic cocktail techniques, wine service, and advanced mixology.
- Previous experience in a steakhouse or similar high-end establishment is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with guests and team members.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent memory and attention to detail for drink orders and guest preferences.
- Knowledge of wine and spirits, with an ability to suggest pairings based on individual tastes and menu selections.
- Basic math skills for accurate drink order preparation and tab management.
Professionalism:
- Impeccable grooming and adherence to the restaurant's uniform and appearance standards.
- Ability to stay calm, composed, and friendly during high-volume periods.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and carry trays, including lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity for handling bar tools, glasses, and bottles.
Certifications:
- Must have a valid alcohol service certification (where required).
- Food safety certification or equivalent is a plus.
