Overview
Join a family business that has been serving the community for 39 years! We’re looking for someone who is available mostly for day shifts which are 11 am to 5 pm. Some night shifts also available which are 5pm to 9pm. Wait staff greet guests, answer menu questions and guide tables with ordering. This is a tipped position, in addition to the minimum wage above.
Responsibilities
- Take accurate food and beverage orders with pen and paper and transfer to the kitchen. It’s the responsibility of wait staff to time appetizers, entrees and other orders based on the table’s needs.
- Serve food and drinks professionally, including beer, wine, soft drinks, entrees and desserts. Knowledge of the menu and Greek cuisine preferred, but can be taught!
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by cleaning tables and work stations and by maintaining good personal hygiene.
- Process cash and card transactions when needed.
- Perform side work before and after every shift, including restocking napkins and towels, cleaning surfaces, brewing iced tea, etc.
Experience
- Previous food service experience in a restaurant setting is preferred
- Experience with food safety practices and sanitation standards
- Excellent time management skills to handle service periods smoothly
- Ability to engage guests with personable service and handle multiple tasks at the same time
- Basic math skills for processing payments accurately and managing sales transactions
