Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting passengers, including students and seniors, while ensuring a positive and secure environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to manage behavior effectively.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a bus according to established routes and schedules.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers while boarding, riding, and exiting the bus.
- Maintain a clean and well-functioning vehicle through regular inspections and basic maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, parents, and school officials regarding schedules and any changes.
- Educate passengers on safety protocols and behavior expectations during transit.
- Manage passenger behavior to ensure a respectful and safe environment for all riders.
- Assist passengers with special needs or disabilities as required, including paratransit services.
- Complete necessary paperwork related to transportation activities, including incident reports when necessary.
Skills
- Strong behavior management skills to maintain order among passengers.
- Experience in school bus driving or commercial driving is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Proficient in English with excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to educate passengers on safety protocols effectively.
- Experience in senior care or working with elderly populations is a plus.
