Job Summary/Purpose: A CNC Machinist/Programmer role is vital to the success of the Profit Center (PC) team, as our products flow through the warehouse. The CNC Machinist receives, cuts, routes, fabricates, stores, and distributes materials, tools, equipment, and products within establishments.
Position Responsibilities:
- Plans day by reviewing work orders, blueprints, quality work-instructions, specifications, materials and machining parameters.
- Accurately calculate dimensions and tolerances; perform layout and measurement of workpieces.
- Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and production staff to improve machining methods and results.
- Proficient in CNC programming and knowledgeable in G-code.
- Programs mills, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, proving part programs.
- Design and produce fixturing.
- Sets-up mills by installing and adjusting vice/chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, stops, indicating vices, etc.
- Responsible for completing production releases and quality sign offs.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software systems.
- Document machining procedures, inspection results, and production metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with company safety standards.
- Mentor and support team members by sharing expertise and assisting with training.
