Michelson Laboratories, Inc. is an established Food and Environmental Testing laboratory in the City of Commerce that offers Microbiological, Chemical, Instrumentation, Entomology, Environmental, and Proximate testing. Michelson Laboratories has assembled a team of experienced food scientists to meet the needs of the food manufacturing industry and are looking for a full-time or part-time, entry-level, Microbiology Technician to help assist with the overall daily tasks in the Microbiology laboratory.
THIS ROLE IS PRIMARILY AN EVENING SHIFT, shift start time is 3:00pm. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Duties for the Microbiology Technician:
-Ensure proper preparation of samples, including sample enrichment and plating
-Analyze samples using PCR and VIDAS instruments
-Steak/read samples on selective media
-Preparing and Reviewing QC Records in the laboratory, ensuring overall maintenance of autoclave, media sterility and QC logs, etc.
-Performing equipment Calibrations, verifications, and sample check-in
-Reviewing QC and raw data for accuracy and compliance to all QA/QC procedures
-Following and enforcing Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
-Identifying and effectively communicating with team regarding any issues
-Conducting internal audits to assure compliance with SOPs, ISO/IEC 17025, ELAP, USDA, IMS, and other regulatory guidelines.
No previous quality or laboratory experience is required.
