Procurement Specialist - contingent worker
The Procurement Specialist supports Global Procurement operations by executing transactional sourcing and procurement activities, ensuring timely conversion of requisitions to purchase orders, maintaining data integrity, and enabling uninterrupted supply to manufacturing operations. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive compliance, resolve discrepancies, and support cost, service, and working capital objectives.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage requisition backlog, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and alignment with Procurement policies

Convert approved requisitions into purchase orders in a timely and compliant manner

Expedite purchase orders to support production and operational requirements across all sites

Coordinate logistics and delivery schedules to ensure continuity of supply

Resolve invoice, receipt, and pricing discrepancies in collaboration with AP, suppliers, and stakeholders

Maintain accurate supplier records and purchase order data within SAP and legacy systems
-
Support master data governance, including material, supplier, and pricing updates
-
Track and report procurement savings and cost avoidance initiatives

Ensure compliance with Procurement policies, controls, and audit requirements

Support special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives as assigned
Skills & Competencies:
Technical / Practical Knowledge

Understanding of procure-to-pay (P2P) processes

Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)

Basic understanding of supply chain, logistics, and inventory management

Ability to manage high-volume transactional workload with accuracy and speed

Education and/or Training:

High School Diploma required
-
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Finance or related field preferred
Relevant Work Experience:

2+ years of procurement, supply chain or related experience preferred

Experience in manufacturing environment is strongly preferred

SAP or ERP system experience preferred
