Overview
Lums Pond Animal Hospital Grooming Studio is seeking a friendly, organized, and detailed oriented Part-Time Grooming Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. This position serves as the first point of contact for our grooming clients and plays an important role in creating a welcoming, professional experience for both pets and their owners.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with people and animals, has strong customer service skills, and possesses excellent organizational abilities.
Schedule
Part time. In person. The schedule is fixed Monday - Friday 10:00am-4:30pm.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets in a professional, friendly manner
- Communicate via phone, email and texting platform and assist clients with scheduling appointments
- Manage grooming schedules and appointment confirmations
- Check clients in and out for grooming appointments
- Collect payments and accurately process transactions
- Maintain accurate client and pet records
- Communicate effectively with groomers regarding schedules, client requests, and daily workflow.
- Monitor vaccine status and review client records as needed
- Maintain a clean and welcoming reception area, including light housekeeping duties including lobby, break room and laundry
- Work as a team with the Hospital to coordinate care and create the best client experience
- Assist in animal handling such as removing or adding collar/harness. Walking pet to/from the lobby
Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Previous customer service experience required
- Previous experience with animal handling preferred
- Comfortable interacting with dogs, cats and their owners
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Computer proficiency required, and experience using scheduling software a bonus
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work in an envirmonment with pet hair, cleaning products, occasional pet accidents and noise from barking dogs
- Ability to safely handle and interact with pets of various sizes and temperaments
