Role Description: The Lead Aircraft Mechanic is a full-time, on-site role based in Melbourne, FL. This role is responsible for overseeing and performing maintenance, repair, modification, and inspection activities on a variety of aircraft, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company standards. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting aircraft systems, coordinating work assignments for mechanics, reviewing technical documentation, and verifying that completed work meets safety and quality requirements. The Lead Aircraft Mechanic collaborates with engineering and quality teams, maintains accurate maintenance records, and supports test and certification activities as needed. This role also mentors less-experienced technicians, promotes adherence to safety procedures, and helps optimize workflow and efficiency in the hangar.
Qualifications:
- FAA A&P License required with IA preferred
- Strong familiarity with turboprop aircraft required with King Air 350 familiarity strongly preferred.
- Turbine helicopter experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Aircraft Structures and Aircraft Maintenance, with demonstrated experience performing structural repairs and modifications.
- Hands-on expertise in PowerPlant and Aircraft Systems, including troubleshooting, repair, and compliance with manufacturer and regulatory standards.
- Comprehensive understanding of overall Aircraft operations and maintenance practices, ensuring airworthiness and safety.
- Experience leading or supervising maintenance teams, including task assignment, mentoring, and performance oversight.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and regulatory documentation.
- Relevant certifications such as FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license preferred; military or OEM experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and ability to work in a fast-paced hangar environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate across maintenance, engineering, and quality assurance teams.
Pay: $30.92 - $37.23 per hour
