*You must have a valid state driver license, clean motor vehicle report (MVR), and hold an active DOT Medical Card*
Job Summary
A Truck Driver, or Transporter, is responsible for transporting goods from one location to another. Their job duties include loading their vehicles, abiding by traffic laws, and ensuring safe unloading and delivery at their destination.
Responsibilities
- Delivering product to customers and other company locations.
- Preparing, loading, and unloading deliveries
- Operating other heavy equipment, i.e. forklift
- Assist in warehouse tasks, as necessary
- Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle
- Perform required vehicle self-inspections
- Maintain accurate records
- Drive in a safe, courteous manner adhering to all traffic regulations
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- A commitment to maintaining safety & cleanliness standards at all times.
- Valid driver’s license required with 3+ years experience driving.
- Must have a good driving record
- Courteous and safe driving required.
- Must possess a high level of customer service.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods as well as the ability to lift 50 lbs. While mainly standard hours are scheduled for this position, 7AM-5PM, Mon-Fri., Sat – 8AM-1PM, rotation of staff may be required on Saturday’s. Flexibility at times is required to ensure all orders and job duties are completed by the end of every shift.
