Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Teen Court Program Coordinator to lead and manage our innovative juvenile justice initiative in Onslow County. This vital role involves coordinating all aspects of the Teen Court program, which empowers youth to participate in restorative justice processes, promotes community engagement, and fosters positive behavioral change. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, strong leadership skills, and a passion for working with young people to create impactful programs that benefit both the community and its youth. Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee the Teen Court program, ensuring alignment with community needs and organizational goals.
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer youth jurors, adult mentors, and court staff to ensure smooth program operations.
- Coordinate with schools, community organizations, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders to promote program participation and foster collaborative relationships.
- Manage all administrative functions including scheduling hearings, maintaining records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with legal and organizational policies.
- Monitor program outcomes through data collection and evaluation methods; adjust strategies to improve effectiveness and engagement.
- Oversee budget management for the program, including tracking expenses and seeking funding opportunities when applicable.
- Provide support for youth participants with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities or behavioral health challenges, ensuring a respectful and inclusive environment.
Skills
- Proven experience in management and program development within social services or juvenile justice settings.
- Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead teams of volunteers and staff effectively.
- Excellent relationship management skills to build partnerships across schools, community agencies, and law enforcement.
- Demonstrated ability to handle administrative tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of behavioral health issues and working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Experience in budgeting, resource allocation, and program evaluation methods.
- Effective communication skills—both verbal and written—to engage diverse audiences and facilitate collaboration.
