The Company has an immediate opening for a Pipe Layer Helper
Position/Location: Pipe Layer Helper / Northampton County, NC
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Unload and carry materials at construction sites
· Clean up site from debris and discarded material
· Determine presence of obstructions
· Operates hand or power tools
· Mixes, prepares, places and cleans cementitious materials for brick paying
· Dig trenches with trenching tools
· Cover pipes with dirt or other material
· Must be willing to complete manual labor
· Operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators, and tampers
· Conduct work with 100% integrity and professionalism
· Experience placing concrete preferred
· Knowledgeable in pipe survey equipment
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
· Ability to receive written or oral instructions
· Establish and maintain effective working relationship with field and office personnel
· Must be committed to contributing to a culture of safety, looking out for yourself and others
· Basic knowledge of working with all types of drainage pipe
· DOT and roadway experience preferred
Physical Requirements:·
Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
· Work long shifts
· Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
· Must have good hand-eye coordination, quick reaction times.
· Able to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and safety-toed boots.
· Able to walk moderate distances to reach work area up to 1/2 mile
· Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
· Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
· Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
· Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment drug screen
