The Tax Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Brielle, NJ. This role is responsible for preparing individual and business tax returns, tax projections, and ensuring accurate and timely tax compliance for clients. The Tax Director will analyze complex tax situations, develop tax-efficient strategies, and collaborate with financial planners to integrate tax planning into broader financial plans. Daily responsibilities may include reviewing tax documents, monitoring changes in tax law, advising on year-round tax strategies, and responding to IRS or state inquiries as needed. The client-facing role also involves maintaining thorough documentation, collaborating with team members on tax matters, and helping refine internal tax processes and standards.
Qualifications
- Strong tax compliance and tax preparation skills, including experience preparing and reviewing individual and business returns.
- Comprehensive knowledge of tax, tax law, and related regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply changes in legislation.
- Solid accounting foundation and familiarity with accounting principles, financial statements, and tax-related accounting entries.
- Proficiency with tax preparation and accounting software, and strong Excel skills.
- Detail-oriented, analytical mindset with the ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in clear, accessible language.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Enrolled Agent (EA), or equivalent credential strongly preferred.
- Five years of tax preparation experience with both individuals and businesses.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
