Principal Secretary (Library)
Performs a variety of clerical, secretarial, and accounting duties to provide support for Library administration.
The employee will have the responsibility of:
- Performing routine clerical and administrative work
- Creating purchase requisitions and enters receiving reports for payment of bills
- Answering and routing in-coming calls or provides information to callers, as required
- Receiving visitors and answers questions
- Composing, typing, and editing a variety of correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other material
- Inputting data to standard office and department forms
- Acting as custodian of departmental documents and records
- Establishing and maintaining filing systems, control records and indexes using moderate independent judgement
- Maintaining departmental personnel records; ensures evaluation dates are met by director
- Scheduling appointments and performs other administrative and clerical duties
- Managing supply inventory
- Receiving and distributing incoming mail; processes outgoing mail

Required Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Graduation from high school or equivalent; and,
- Two (2) years of secretarial or library reference experience
Special Requirements:
- Must have a valid Texas driver’s license within ninety (90) days of hire
- Must have a valid driver’s license by date-of-hire
