Responsibilities
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions swiftly and efficiently
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos
- Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Assist with inventory management through stock checks and product replenishment
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors over the phone
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
- Experience in supervising or leading a team is advantageous but not required
- Ability to perform retail math calculations quickly and accurately for pricing and discounts
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking procedures, and retail sales techniques is beneficial
