Career Care Institute is hiring MedSurg Instructors for our ADN Program.
Mission
Under the direct supervision of the ADN Program Director and/or Assistant Program Director, full time and part-time nursing faculty assume responsibility and accountability for instruction, instructional counseling, academic advising, evaluation of student and course outcomes, and planning, implementing and evaluating curriculum content. The Board of Nursing and Career Care Institute pre-licensure nursing program considers part-time faculty share the same responsibilities as full-time faculty.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a commitment to professional nursing
- Participate in professional organizations through active membership
- Participate in local, state, and national activities, including presentations, designed to enhance the profession
- Demonstrate commitment to the college and program
- Under the direction of the ADN Program Director and with the Policy and Procedures Committee develop policies and procedures, plan, organize, implement, and evaluate all aspects of the program
- Comply with all college and program policies and procedures and regulatory and accreditation standards
- Maintain accurate and complete scholastic records, including attendance records
- Effectively communicate with students and college/program faculty and staff
- Contribute to the development of faculty and student learning resources
- Maintain adequate office hours to provide academic advising and instructional counseling
- Participate in Nursing Success Seminars to provide tutoring, remediation, and mentoring
- Promote student and faculty recruitment through networking and career/college fairs
- Complete faculty orientation program, review program curriculum, policies and procedures, strategies for teaching, and responsibilities related to student supervision and evaluation
- Utilize Best Practices to enhance the learning environment
- Demonstrate competence in theory and clinical education, teaching, assessment of learning, and curriculum development and expertise, enthusiasm and creativity in teaching which produces an environment where learning and self-improvement occur
- Coordinate, plan, organize and instruct theory or clinical courses based on approved program curriculum to achieve the specific course outcome objectives
- Evaluate student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes related to nursing knowledge and practice
- Apply existing technologies in a creative manner
- Identify students at risk for not achieving course outcomes in order to provide corrective action plans and remediation. All remediation must be discussed with the Program Director
- Must be willing to travel as needed to fulfill job responsibilities.

Qualifications and Skills
- BSN or MSN in Med-Surg or thirty (30) hours of continuing education or two (2) semester units or three (3) quarter units of nursing education related to Med-Surg nursing or have national certification in Med-Surg nursing from ANCC or equivalent
- Direct patient care in the last 5 years; 240 hours of medical-surgical clinical experiences within the last 3 years of the 5 years or a minimum of one (1) academic year of registered nurse level clinical teaching experience in med-surg nursing area within the previous five (5) years
- Equivalent of one year’s teaching experience teaching in pre- or post-licensure RN program or
- Completion of a post-baccalaureate RN education course that includes practice teaching
- Must be approved by the California Board of Nursing prior to employment

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
