Job Summary
East Texas truck center, Baytown is in search of an experienced service advisor to join our growing team! The Service Advisor serves as the main point of contact between customers and the truck repair shop. This position is responsible for greeting customers, documenting repair concerns, preparing estimates, coordinating with technicians, updating customers on repair progress, and ensuring excellent customer service throughout the repair process from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assess truck service and repair needs
- Open repair orders and accurately document customer concerns
- Schedule service appointments and manage workflow
- Prepare repair estimates and explain costs to customers
- Communicate with technicians regarding diagnostics and repairs
- Provide customers with updates on repair status and completion times
- Recommend preventative maintenance and additional services when appropriate
- Process invoices and collect payments
- Maintain accurate service records and customer information
- Handle warranty claims and coordinate with vendors when necessary
- Ensure compliance with safety and company policies
- Maintain professional relationships with fleet customers and owner-operators
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience in heavy-duty truck, diesel, or automotive service industry preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic knowledge of diesel engines, truck systems, and repair terminology required
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Computer proficiency and experience with shop management software a plus!
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills is a must!
- Valid driver’s license required
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of DOT inspections and preventative maintenance programs
- Experience working with fleet accounts
- Ability to upsell maintenance services professionally
- Familiarity with parts ordering and labor estimating
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the shop environment
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work in a noisy shop environment
Work Environment
- Heavy-duty truck repair shop or diesel service facility
- Fast-paced customer service environment
- Work Schedule M-F from 7a-4p
- Will require occasional overtime and/or weekend work as the business demands

Pay: $52,333.25 - $63,025.00 per year
