Position Summary
The Sales Development Specialist is responsible for generating qualified sales opportunities by identifying prospective customers, engaging decision-makers, and qualifying business opportunities for the sales team. This position focuses on proactive outbound business development, lead qualification, account re-engagement, and supporting the company's sales growth initiatives. The Sales Development Specialist works closely with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering to build a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities within targeted industrial markets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify and prospect new customers through outbound phone calls, email campaigns, LinkedIn, and other business development activities.
- Research target accounts and identify key decision-makers within prospective customer organizations.
- Qualify leads based on business needs, project requirements, and strategic fit.
- Schedule introductory meetings between qualified prospects and the appropriate sales or technical personnel.
- Re-engage inactive and former customers to identify new project opportunities.
- Respond promptly to inbound inquiries generated through marketing campaigns, trade shows, website submissions, and other lead sources.
- Maintain accurate customer and prospect information, activities, and opportunity status within the company's CRM system (HubSpot).
- Conduct consistent follow-up activities to advance opportunities through the sales pipeline.
- Develop a working knowledge of Artisan Industries' products, services, and target markets to effectively communicate value propositions.
- Collaborate with Marketing to support outbound campaigns, account targeting, and lead generation initiatives.
- Participate in trade shows, customer events, and other business development activities as required.
- Meet or exceed established activity, lead generation, and opportunity creation goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant business development or sales experience will be considered.
- One to three years of experience in sales, business development, customer service, or a customer-facing role preferred.
- Experience in B2B sales or industrial manufacturing is preferred but not required.
- Experience using CRM software, preferably HubSpot, is desirable.

- Ability to research prospective customers and identify business opportunities.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems.
- Willingness to learn technical products and industrial applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively across Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Operations.
- Ability to travel periodically for customer visits, trade shows, and company events.
